Wittenham Clumps
Wittenham clumps are a set of small hills, with wooded crests, that sit alongside the River Thames in Oxfordshire. The area has been inhabited since the Bronze Age and today is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and part of a nature reserve run by the Northmoor Trust. The adjacent meadows that lead down to the banks of the Thames are a noted for their carpet of Buttercups and other wildflowers and are a habitat for many species including Damselfies and Mayflies.
