Beautiful Demoiselle Damselfly
This is the male Beautiful Demoiselle Damselfy (Calopteryx virgo) with his fabulous metallic blue-green colouring. Measuring only about 40mm and rarely settling for more than a few seconds, this took a lot of chasing. It's hard to capture in a photo how this dragonfly shimmers in the light as it flies.
